Singapore is facing a shortage of skills in finance and accounting, while the demand for talent of high caliber in the strong economy to intensify. Proactive measures employers are taken to deal with the crisis of talent, but with the balance of power in the labour market is shifting towards employees, organizations must attract and retain the best people do.
These conclusions are based on data collected from the “Singapore and skills in the field of accounting and finance talent survey 2010: uncovering the challenges”, an examination of joint recruitment specialist Robert Half and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The survey was conducted in August 2010 and interviewed 1,600 professionals in finance and accounting in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. Of respondents Singapore 428, 325 were involved in the recruitment of staff.
